Monday Rides
Map and directions for Red Fox, Inc.
This is a group ride perfect for families, for those who
are just getting started in cycling, or those who are not yet
sure of their ability/pace. Union Road's very light vehicle traffic,
gently rolling hills, and pastoral scenery make for a very
enjoyable social ride.
This ride leaves Red Fox, Inc. at 6 p.m. on Monday evenings.
Typical rides will be in the 6-8 mile range and will last
about an hour.
Directions to Red Fox:
From top of Harrison Hill
take Union Rd to T-intersection at stop sign. Turn right onto
Prarie View Rd. and go approx. .25 mi. Red Fox will be on your right.
When parking please do not block the driveway on the right.
Tues/Thurs A & B Rides
Map and directions for the Harrison Youth Center.
There are two rides on Tuesday and Thursday nights this year. Both
rides leave the Harrison Youth Center parking lot at 5:45 p.m.
(most riders start showing up around 5:30 to gear up and chat).
The 'A' group rides at a 16-19 mph average. There are frequent
accelerations, hard efforts and sprints. Riders choosing this group
should expect to get dropped at some point. There is a regouping at
most major intersections or every couple of miles. Bring your hammer.
The 'B' group rides at an 11-15 mph average. The motto is "no rider
left behind"; if you are wanting to try to drop other riders, please
ride the 'A' group instead. An experienced cyclist will lead this ride
each evening.
Saddle-up Saturdays
Saddle-up Saturdays offer a longer ride each weekend. Rides usually
meet at the Youth Center with start times varying according to the
coolness of the season. Routes usually run in 40-60 mile range.
Examples of common rides we do are riding to Jasper or Diamond City
for breakfast and then back to Harrison, or everyone's favorite...
the Jasper Disaster.
